Mr. Cramer’s Intro to Ag/Plant & Soil Science classes took a field trip to the Horicon Marsh Education Center. Students did macroinvertebrate testing and biotic index scoring with staff from the Horicon Marsh Education Center. Our 7th graders completed their plate tectonics lab earlier this week. They learned how tectonic plates move to create different landforms. Three different boundaries were created with the graham crackers (plate boundaries) and whipped cream (mantle): transform, divergent, and convergent. The Mayville School Board recently recognized Northwest Cable Construction, Inc. for its support of the district’s schools through the Wisconsin Association of School Boards’ 2023 Business Honor Roll program. The program recognizes local school district business partners that support their local schools by providing resources or additional learning opportunities for students and staff. Last fall, the Northwest Cable team ran internet cable from our High School to our athletic facility press box at no cost to the district, allowing us to implement technology, as well as to stream our events for our community. They have donated service hours and product to improve our community baseball fields on which our Varsity and JV baseball teams play, and most recently contributed toward a robotic solution to painting our athletic fields. ATHLETICS UPDATES for next week!! Volleyball vs. Laconia has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, and the football game vs. St. Mary's Springs has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 5th. Tuesday's Volleyball game is Senior night, and all concessions and admissions sales will go towards supporting our science teacher and head tennis coach, Brad Seegert, with his fight against leukemia. Thursday's game is parents/senior night, and the game will be featured on Wissports' Thursday Night Throwdown production. At halftime, our state runner-up softball team will be presented with the WIAA/Rural Mutual Insurance Sportsmanship Award, given to the team that exhibited exemplary sportsmanship at last spring's WIAA State Championship.
