For the first time ever, MHS had three students attend the 10th Annual Robert J. Martin High School Forensic Accounting Competition this year! It was an exciting day with 30 teams competing. Gaining knowledge about another perspective of accounting was enlightening for the team. We plan to make this an annual event. The FBLA club has been collaborating with Mayville Manufacturing and independent study graphic design student, Katelyn E., also an FBLA member, on expanding new offerings at the school store...the Cardinal's Nest! As spring sports are quickly approaching, the school store has sweatshirts, warm hats, soft cozy blankets, flannel pants and so much more. Besides raising money for the American Heart Association, students at MES also learned a lot during the Kids Heart Challenge. They learned about their bodies, how to keep a healthy heart, how to perform life saving CPR and how to spot a stroke F.A.S.T.! Our 7th and 8th grade Student Council walked down to MES to be "Big Buddies" with 1st graders in Mrs. Schwirtz's class. The bigs read with their new friends and worked on spring-themed coloring pages together. Last Friday our littlest 4K Cardinals from Parkview Early Learning Center traveled to Dr. Stevens' dental office and learned about dental health! We toured the facility, learned about the equipment used when cleaning teeth, and we got to take a "ride" in the dentist chair! It was an exciting day of learning in our hometown.
